Karen is a teacher, graphic artist, calligrapher and children’s illustrator.

Karen grew up in Northern Wisconsin. Raised on a resort, she loved exploring the forest and lakes nearby.  Here she developed a love for the forest and the creatures that lived there.

When she was young her uncle was always telling her stories. She loved them and this was beginning of her desire to bring joy to other children. As a young mother she would entertain her daughters with many stories about run away french fries and jumping jelly beans. Her children loved them and were always asking for more stories so Karen decided to write and illustrate some.

Karen Lee has a passion for teaching.  She has worked as an Adult ELL (English language learner) teacher and an ELL substitute para-professional.

Karen has taught Community Education classes for elementary students. Karen also presented original teaching materials and curriculum at MinneTESOL. She worked for several years with the Sons of Norway magazine as an illustrator for a children’s column.

Recently she has taught basic cartooning to children and calligraphy to adults in both Minnesota and Wisconsin. Come in and meet Karen!
